Reaching a Niche Market at Scale
Caption Pro faced the unique challenge of operating in a highly specialised market. Their revolutionary technology was solving critical pain points for professional photographers, but reaching the right decision-makers proved difficult. Traditional marketing approaches weren't connecting with their target audience of photography directors, senior editors, and agency owners who were drowning in manual captioning work.
The photography industry is fragmented, with potential customers scattered across sports organisations, entertainment agencies, news outlets, and freelance operations. We needed a systematic way to identify and engage these prospects with messaging that resonated with their specific workflow challenges.
The challenge was clear: how do you build a predictable pipeline, in a niche B2B market where prospects have a range of different use cases?

Our Approach
Data-Driven Precision Targeting
We developed a sophisticated outbound system that was built on market intelligence and intentional segmentation.
First, we performed extensive analysis to map Caption Pro's entire addressable market, segmenting companies into specific categories: sports photography agencies, entertainment event photographers, news organisations, university athletic departments, and professional sports teams. We built detailed profiles of their current workflows and captioning pain points.
Then, we reached out to their Digital Asset Managers through an omni-channel campaign across LinkedIn and email. We crafted each message to speak to segment-specific challenges: sports photographers received messaging about player identification, while entertainment agencies were told about rapid event turnaround times. We leaned heavily on data, showing benchmarks around captioning time and tagging accuracy.
Finally, after noticing that our Digital Asset Manager avatar was most responsive on LinkedIn, we slowly scaled up our efforts on this platform and expanded our infrastructure to include more of Caption Pro's sales team.
By eliminating guesswork and replacing it with a data-driven process, we started adding consistent, qualified opportunities into Caption Pro's pipeline.

Our Results
A Predictable Revenue Engine
Within 90 days of scaling up LinkedIn efforts, Caption Pro acquired two new enterprise clients from the system and added $39K to their monthly recurring revenue. We also established predictability from the winning campaign. It became sales engine that they could keep permanently switched on.
It also revealed insights about which segments converted at the highest LTV. Sports photography agencies showed the strongest product-market fit, and Caption Pro could now double down on their most profitable customer profile.
The LinkedIn aspect proved particularly effective. Their team was already active on LinkedIn, but by having a more dedicated focus towards the platform, we were able to unlock an entirely new growth channel. They've also benefitted internally - Caption Pro's team are now equipped with the frameworks, messaging and analytical tools to sustain their outbound motion independently.
